Tomorrow will be our 30th day on the road and we are taking a break from the hiking, sightseeing and photography.
For my better half, that means reading and catching up with friends back home.
For me, it means a short drive up to the north behind our current RV park to the Custer-Gallatin National Forest US-4501 (Montana) in the morning and then 3 miles to the south, into Wyoming, to Yellowstone National Park US-0070.
Both locations are up high, so I'm hoping for good propagation.
Rig: FT-891 at 100 watts, 10-20 meters, CW. Vertical antenna on car.
1500-1700Z: US-4501 DONE!
Thanks for all the contacts - conditions were great and I worked quite a bit of EU DX as well as old friends W1PID, AK5X and others.
Battery is now recharging for Yellowstone NP activation starting at ~1900Z.
1900-2200Z: US-0070 DONE! Including a P2P with M0TTQ on 17m.
Times are approximate.

Have been listening John. No signals from any USA station this evening. Good luck. 73, Bas
ReplyDeleteThanks for listening, Bas. I was mostly on 17 and 20 meters. Bands seemed "ok" but not great...a good amount of QSB. I did manage some EU DX. But amazingly, the strongest station I worked was in EU (DL3DXX), not here in the US.
