(CE)SSB with the QMX+

Hans G0UPL posted the following:

I'm so happy. That's why I am writing this. CESSB works! I have recorded a 1-minute YouTube demo (Churchill's speech still) showing a QMX receiving QMX+ CESSB transmissions:

I'm getting my mic ready!

When the CESSB-enabling firmware is released, the QMX+ will be a high-performing 6-160m CW/SSB/digital transceiver for $125. Truly amazing.

  1. Doesn't sound as clear audio to me. Like it is digitally processed and made audio again. What is "CE" SSB? 73, Bas

    1. Hi Bas - it sounds very clear to me, although it is an 84 year-old recording.

Here is a brief description of CESSB

  2. That is great news! I agree that the audio sounds fine to me, considering the age of the recording. Will be interested in hearing more as the ssb routines in the software develop.

  3. Amazing achievement by Hans ! Yes it sounds clear, but you can't expect crystal clear sound with a WW II recording. Nevertheless, this is FlexRadio level folks ! Looking forward when this will be released, although I don't have a QMX+ (yet). 73, Patrick ON4CDJ
