Video: a Morse Chrome demo

Google has a new app for their Chrome web browser that converts text to audible Morse Code.

Though I am a FireFox man I do have Chrome on my computer and couldn't resist giving it a try. CW speed and sidetone pitch are both adjustable via the app's configuration settings.

Morse Chrome is free and downloadable here.

  1. Thanks for the post John. It is a nice way to practise morse code when the bugs are out....hi. Recently picked up practising again but with limited time for the hobby it is hard. 73, Bas

  2. Though I also have Chrome on my iMac, I prefer to use Chromium when I am dealing with a benighted website still insisting upon Flash. (Dangerous Flash, other than the versions inside Chrome and Chromium, was long ago removed from my computers. Safety first!) I downloaded the Morse Chrome app with Chromium, and was pleased to note that
    (1) It works on a Mac.
    (2) It works with Chromium and not just with Chrome.
    (3) It even works with the paleolithic system software (Mac OS 10.6.8 Snow Leopard) I am using on this computer.

By the way, in my installation periods still have that extra "dit" near the end.

  4. AS A FINALLY CONVERTED STRICTLY CW OP, I HAVE TAUGHT SEVERAL CLASSES ON C.W. I RECOMMEND THE ''G4FON KOCH METHOD'' FREE DOWNLOAD. U CAN MAKE IT FROM EASY TO VY DIFFICULT; [ADD QRM, QRN, QSB, VARY SENDING SPEED, PITCH DITHER TO NAME SOME]. ALSO U CAN PICK WHAT CHARACTERS U WANT TO PRACTICE. ITS A FREE DWNLOAD. I DID NOT MAKE 30 WPM OVER A SHORT TIME, BUT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS.
