3 June

TAT/QRP will begin on the morning of 3 June, starting near Chatsworth GA.

It's impossible to predict with any reliability how much radio'ing I'll be doing (and when) since weather and POTA proximity to the TAT are big factors.

But the TAT passes directly through, and immediately adjacent to, many parks along the way and I'll try to make use of that when possible.

Radio gear will be that shown in the photo.

Hopefully, I'll be able to post my intended activations to the POTA website so that the RBN will spot me when I call CQ.

  2. Have a good trip. It sounds like a blast and I'll be watching for updates with envy.

I don't see a laptop on your electronics gear list. Does that mean you'll be uploading videos, pictures, and updates from your phone or will we have to wait until you get home to get any of that?

Also, I'd be interested in a post about your thoughts on the Neo2 at some point, maybe when you get home.

    Stay safe and have fun!

    1. Thanks Nick - a few last minute changes:

I will be taking a 14" laptop for saving files from the drones and editing video
I've sent the camping gear ahead so I don't have to carry it in the southern (hot) states

I'm loving the Neo 2 - how is the Flip doing?

  4. John, sorry I didn't get to cross paths with you as you started the TAT in our neck of the woods but I needed to get north to deal with things as the weather broke. Good luck and I'll see if I can't manage to find you and have a qso or two along your trip. Perhaps maybe while marine mobile on the Erie canal. 🙂 Glad to see you settled on the kx2. I'll be interested to see how the Neo2 works out.

    1. No problem Kevin, maybe we can meet on the air. The KX2 is doing great and the Neo 2 is getting a workout. Super impressed with that drone, especially given the price. Have fun on the Erie, hopefully the wx will be good.

      73 for now,
      John
