Seamless transition to JTDX - is it supposed to be this easy?!

I downloaded and installed the latest version of JTDX and JTAlert just a few minutes ago and had my first FT8 QSO not more than 5 minutes later - I had anticipated taking at least 15 to 20 minutes to make everything work as there are several programs that need to talk to each other.

Evidently, everything is imported from WSJT-X and there is nothing to be configured! when switching from WSJT-X to JTDX:

JTDX + Flex  CHECK (CAT, audio - it's all there and working)
JTDX + JTAlert  CHECK
JTALERT + ACLog  CHECK (even though I'd also installed the latest version, this time clicking the option to allow it to talk to JTDX - an option I'd left unselected till now)

There were not even any minor things to adjust, select, configure or curse at. I do have to get used to a new layout and find all the right buttons, etc. And I'll have to learn the numerous filtering options that JTDX has - this is probably JTDX's main appeal to those who use it.

And to top it all off, 20m seems in good shape.

  1. Besides the filtering and the autosequence protocol it works the same. I changed colors for my own convenience. Transition from WSJT-X was so easy I don't even think I posted anything about it on my blog weeks ago....good luck...73, Bas

    1. Yes, the colors do need to be changed. Other than that, I guess it's just a matter of using it to get used to the new layout.
