"Well he got him a station down in Mexico...

...and sometimes it'll kinda come in."

Bas PE4BAS has posted a couple of radio-related songs from YouTube on his blog so I thought I'd post my favorite of that sub-genre.

One of my favs from the late great Tom Petty; especially like the lyrics at 2m:30s into the song - I like to think he's talking about a ham station gone pirate to object to the moving "OK" (to log) button in WSJT-X:

  1. Great John, did get more responses on radio related music through my e-mail. Have to listen for it first before publishing on my blog. This is a nice one.... 73, Bas

    1. FB Bas, I look forward to sampling them when you post them. I'm starting to recall a few more radio-related songs as well and will add them here.

  2. Gotta' say I like the "Ham Band" http://www.hamband.com/. They were at Dayton in the flea market years ago, dressed up in tails and tophat, like the cover of their "Join us on the Airwaves" CD. I practically wore it out. Now they are on Spotify, and so it is in my saved albums list. Love to stream it while driving to Dayton (now Xenia) each year...

    1. I remember reading about them after the Dayton hamfest that year...6 or 7 years ago? I see they even have a song "The Trip to Dayton"!
