Elecraft order cancelled

I cancelled my order today for the KXPA-100.

Not true for at least a week now

A follow-up email generated by the order said that it would ship within 1-5 business days. A week had gone by without me receiving a shipping notification so I called Elecraft and learned that some parts were on back-order and that the item was not ready to ship.

When I placed the order for the amp, the status page said then (as now) that the amplifier was/is in stock and ready to ship. I placed my order based on that info. My credit card was charged that day.

Moral of the story: Do not trust the "Status" page - call before ordering to verify. It is not maintained or updated to reflect the actual status of the item you may be ordering.

    In Denmark, it is illegal for webshops etc. to charge your credit card before the package has been sent! (They can reserve the money on your account, but not transfer it until the goods have physically left the warehouse.)

    1. I don't know if it's illegal here but it is not the practice to bill before an item is sent, only reserve, as you mention. Mine was billed the day of the order. That, and being put on hold for 7 minutes while they looked for my order, being told parts were on order and then (by a 2nd rep) being told that the amp could, after all, ship tomorrow - all soured me on the deal and I'm $1175 richer for it.
