JQ1SRN's "CW Invader"

Here's a neat little project from Dai JQ1SRN - the CW Invader.

Designed to be a fun way to learn (or better oneself) at CW with a straight key, the object is to send the displayed characters before they scroll off-screen. A score is kept and there are multiple levels, with the speed of the characters increasing as the game progresses.

An English manual can be downloaded here (pdf).

  6. I finally found a 1" x 2" oval speaker and connected it to the piezo speaker connection and it is fine now. The piezo speaker is just too limited for my old ears. Others who have played with it agree. The standard speaker sounds the best. I don't know the impedance of the speaker. It and its twin came out of a monitor stand with built in sound system from the old tube type monitor.

I also ordered version 2 and built it. Neat project for a beginning builder and also learning CW with a straight key.
