Great news from VE-land; and its compatibility with FT8+

Sunwapta Falls, Jasper National Park, AB
If you're like me and were disappointed when NPOTA ended on the last day of 2016, take heart - Radio Amateurs of Canada has announced CNPOTA.

Canadian National Parks on the Air will be a year-long event throughout 2019, very similar to NPOTA in goals, online tracking, etc. There are 219 qualifying parks and National Historic Sites.

What's different and offers an added dimension to CNPOTA is the now-widespread use of FT8 and the ability of the latest version of WSJT-X (set to be released in final form on Dec 10) to allow park activators to include their park designation - a necessary part of the exchange.

It would be nice to know what other parks are near Banff, for example, that an activator might also be
able to activate in conjunction with the larger park. A map on CNPOTA's website showing the location of all the parks in relation to each other and to major cities would be helpful.
