DX available, no FT8 needed

A lot of the appeal of FT8 is its ability to allow DX to be worked during band conditions as we're experiencing lately. So say many of the mode's proponents, and I won't dispute that, but it implies that there is little to no DX to be worked on other modes.

October is the beginning of the "winter DXpedition season" and this year is no exception. Many DXpeditions are currently on the air and, due to the nature and definition of a DXpedition, their antennas are temporary affairs, hastily erected.

And yet effective.

  1. Wow, what can I say. Great work. Many of DXCCs are needed here. I guess I need to have a better listen. Worked 8Q7PE on 30m this weekend btw. Also a nice DXCC but already had it. 73, Bas

  2. Good luck with Ducie, Bas - that's a long haul for EU. I've never worked anyone with FT8's DXpedition (fox/hound) mode and am looking forward to trying it. That may be the best bet for those far from VP6D.
