Nice little kit! Built quite a few, gave a number as gifts to old timers. They work admirably with a decent resonant antenna, even though they only put out a few hundred milliwatts.Of course, you can modify the output device, put a heat sink on it, and change the collector coil to something a little more power friendly, and get a half watt out. Well worth the cost, and fun to build. https://kc9on.com/ham-radio/qrp-radios/chinese-qrp-kits-2/chinese-pixie/ has excellent information and recommendations for modifications.
Thanks for the link, George. The Pixie is a proven design and I believe this kit follows that design exactly. You'd think postage alone would cost more than $2.61.
Is that in total minus the shipping?
That's the total price, shipping included. Next I want to see their KX2 clone for $15 ;-)
They're working on it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdMjukZBcgM&lc=z22rh3cw4lebwjtwy04t1aokgeahiwx2lkvyogheoevxrk0h00410
I just ordered one, then noticed there are two different ones. I should've spent a few cents more to get the sidetone buzzer. I really enjoy your high quality blogging John.
Thanks for the nice comment :-)
